We are often contacted by representatives of installation companies asking whether the fans we supply meet the legislative requirements defined in the National Decree No. 502/2000 (Government Regulation on the immission of noise, amendment 148/2006 Coll.).
Government Regulation No. 502/2000, which is amended by NV No. 88/2004 Coll. and NV No. 148/2006 Coll. on the protection of health against the adverse effects of noise, deals exclusively with the immission effects of noise from noise sources. These depend on the specific location of the noise source, the path of propagation of the acoustic energy, the acoustic shielding and, in general, the characteristics of the space in which the noise propagates.
Fan manufacturers do not predict the type of spaces in which fans will be installed and only specify noise emission parameters. These parameters are dealt with in other standards.
The designer or the consumer is responsible for the location of the equipment, who, according to the emission parameters provided by the fan manufacturer, decides on its location or proposes appropriate construction or other measures to meet the requirements of the NV No 88/2004 Coll. or NV No 148/2006 Coll.). That NV does not lay down any requirements for the acoustic exciters themselves.
