The following motor types are found in the fans we supply:
- asynchronous single-phase 230 V short-threaded
- asynchronous single-phase 24 V short-threaded
- asynchronous single-phase 230 V with start-up capacitor
- asynchronous single-phase 230 V with external rotor and start-up capacitor
- asynchronous three-phase 400 V, 230/400 V with external rotor
- asynchronous single-phase standard IEC 230 V motors
- asynchronous three-phase standard IEC 400 V, 230/400 V motors
- electronically commutated EC motors
Individual motors and thus fans differ in permitted operating conditions, operating characteristics, controllability, efficiency, etc. Details are given in the catalogues and operating instructions.
All motors used in the fans supplied by us are designed exclusively for continuous S1 operation in accordance with EN60034-1 (except for fans designed for S2 operation).
All motors used in the fans supplied by us are intended exclusively for indoor installation.
The storage of fans with electric motors must always comply with the conditions specified in EN 600 34-2-1 (EN 35 0000-1-1). The storage area must be clean and dry, free from sudden temperature changes and the possibility of condensation or dew, and the temperature must never fall below 5 °C. In the case of long-term storage, the preservation must be checked 3 times a year and, if necessary, renewed (especially the protective coatings of the treated surfaces).
Motors in 230 V version
The supplied 1-phase fans are equipped with motors marked in the operating voltage data 230 V (the data refer only to operation in power networks with 230 V phase voltage). The fans have a short winding for starting (low outputs) or an auxiliary winding with a starting capacitor. For two or more speed motors, the change of capacitor in the auxiliary winding can be used to change the speed.
Motors in 230/400 V or 400 V versions
The supplied three-phase fans are equipped with motors marked in the operating voltage data in one of the two following ways (data only applies to operation in power grids with a combined voltage of 400 V (380 to 415 V)).
The 230/400 V indication means that the motor can be operated exclusively with the winding connected in a star (triangular connection will destroy the motor). The 400 V indication means that the motor can be operated with the winding connected in a triangle (if the manufacturer recommends Y/D switching in the instructions, the fan can be operated permanently at low or high speed). If it is not recommended by the manufacturer for control, it can only be operated in a triangular connection. A switchable 400V winding (Y/D) is advantageous for inexpensive fan speed control and thus fan flow.
